An innovative study that is being carried out in Burgos and aims to explore how forest baths can benefit our physical and mental health.

The forest baths, for those who are not familiar, are immersive walks in little traveled forests, made in a slow and conscious way, designed to connect with nature using the five senses. This practice, which combines the tranquility of the natural environment with moderate exercise, is being investigated as a possible complementary therapy to improve the quality of life of people with diabetes.

The study, carried out by the University of Burgos in collaboration with researchers of the local health system, will analyze how these walks affect variables such as blood pressure, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation and glucose levels, in addition toPsychological aspects such as depression, anxiety and mood.

52 people will participate in this study, which will be randomly distributed in an intervention group, which will carry out the forest baths, and a control group. It is a unique opportunity for those who can participate, since in addition to contributing to science, they can experience first hand the possible benefits of this natural therapy.

This holistic approach is not only aligned with a growing tendency towards more natural and less invasive therapies, but also opens the door to new ways to handle our condition more comprehensive and harmoniously with the environment.

If you are interested and meet the requirements (be over 18 and live with diabetes), I encourage you to consider participating in this research.

It could be a wonderful way to explore how nature can help us feel better physically and mentally.

Personally I think that the most difficult thing is to find the time to be able to perform the activity, many of us live in large cities and with difficulty accessing natural spaces, on the other hand, the simple fact of reducing stress in any context, beach, countryside, etc ... is also a factor that improves glucose control.

Greetings.
