Today I share an exciting project that is taking place in Asturias and that has enormous potential to transform the lives of people with type 2 diabetes.

Led by nurse María Ablanedo of the Hospital de Cabueñes in Gijón, this project is part of a broader initiative promoted by the European Union to combat type 2 diabetes through changes in lifestyle.

The project, known as C4D (Care for Diabetes), focuses on a multidisciplinary approach that addresses several key aspects: nutrition, physical activity, sleep management and the incorporation of moments of relaxation in daily life. This methodology not only seeks to improve physical health, but also the general well -being of patients.

María and her team have launched this program with a group of 19 people in a rural house in Asturias, where they have begun to implement these life changes.Participants, seven women and twelve men have shown a positive response and are already seeing the first results of their commitment to the program.

The C4D project is not only limited to Asturias. In fact, it is part of a broader plan that involves 12 European countries, all of which are making similar pilot experiences to evaluate the effectiveness of these interventions in the quality of life of people with type 2 diabetes.

The profile of the participants in this program is quite specific: people are sought diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in the last ten years, with a body mass index of between 25 and 35 kg/m², which are already receiving treatment and haveSkills to handle their glucose measurements and perform online tasks. But the most important thing is that they must be motivated to make a significant change in their lifestyle.

This project is a testimony of how innovative and patient -centered approaches can make a real difference in chronic disease management such as type 2 diabetes. It is an opportunity for people to take an active role in improving their health andPotentially, they reduce their medication dependence such as insulin.

I hope this information inspires you and encouraged you to consider the importance of a healthy lifestyle, not only as a way of handling diseases, but also to improve the general quality of life.

Greetings,
