Reduce insulin resistance

When the long-awaited day arrived to go to the endocrinologist's consultation, having been through a season that with the change of season and temperatures, my diabetes has caused me to wake up high every day, without having varied quantities, types of food, exercise, etc. and after having tried to raise and lower my basal rate (toujeo) after telling the endocrinologist about it, he prescribed FORXIGA to supposedly reduce that resistance.

Reading information about the medication, I am not very happy about part of the day side effects.

Does anyone with experience with this medication and/or are taking it who can give their experience?

Thank you so much

Hello LuVi, I am type 1 diabetic and I also have insulin resistance, in my last consultation with the endocrinologist he told me that this resistance could be due to fatty liver, I have no idea, in September they will do some tests at the hospital to see that.

For insulin resistance, he prescribed Metformin 850 mg, this caused me nausea, a lot of abdominal inflammation, and muscle discomfort. At the moment he doesn't want to take it away, he tells me that it is the best for insulin resistance.

I do not know the medication Forxiga, I will discuss it with my endocrinologist in my next consultation.
Thank you very much for the information.
All the best,
Eladio

Very good @Eladio, I think mine is more due to the secretion of cortisol, I have also asked for tests to assess the level.

If with metformin, you have suffered from these side effects, with FORXIGA I do not think you are exempt, since it also has quite a few side effects, which is why I have ruled out taking it, not to believe a new discomfort or ailment will improve another.

For now I'm going to try using berberine to see if it does anything.

All the best
