Excessive Battery Consumption with FreeStyle Libre and Android

Good morning, I have been noticing for days that the Libre app on Android consumes the phone's battery at a brutal rate, when I am almost sure that this was not the case before.

We are talking about swallowing 50% of the battery in a few hours.

Before I would get to the end of the day with 40%-50% battery power and now I get there by the skin of my teeth, otherwise I have to charge it in the middle of the afternoon to be able to get to the end of the day.

This change in consumption is strange when the last update of the app is from last February and I started to notice this a few days ago.

Have you noticed anything like this?Tips to reduce this consumption?

Well, my librelink has only spent 2.1% since the last upload.

If you were spending normally until now, think that it may have changed.

Well, I don't know what has changed. The app has not officially been updated since February 16.Unless they have released a hidden update.

In the last two or three days, 44.9%, 54.4%, 35.4%, etc... Today it is already at 13.6%.Something out of the ordinary.

At the moment I have removed the permissions to run in the background to see how the day goes.

Look at the battery usage of the App in "battery" and you will see that it does not exceed 2 or 3%.It will be something else that drains it from you.

Today it is already at 20% and there is almost the entire day left.

I have thought about uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but I don't want to lose the history.

Edit:

Looking at the consumption history, it has been since this month of April. It has gone from consuming about 30-40MB of data per month to 591MB in the 20 days of the month.

Someone check and advise me what to do before having to uninstall, please.

It's also happening to me with the Libre 3. The only solution I have found is to turn off mobile data whenever I can and limit the apps in the background as much as possible.

If anyone has any other tricks to not waste so much battery, I would greatly appreciate it if you could post it on the forum.

Damn, that's so weird.I had never seen it go over 3% and I left the screen on for hours with librelink in the foreground.

Don't let him fight with diabox.

The same thing happened to me, until I discovered that the screen BRIGHTNESS option had been changed, I reduced it to 1/4 and my battery lasts all day again.

P.S. don't leave him the automatic option, he will do whatever he wants

Well, I have removed the permissions to keep it open in the background and I have restricted its battery usage and now it remains at 2% battery usage, although it continues updating every minute as before.

I'm going to continue like this for a couple of days to see if the change is noticeable, but the truth is that it's all very strange.

You should also stop Google (remove its permissions), it is stealing information from us all day long.Delete cookies and clean your phone... your battery will last much longer and you won't receive as many spam calls. There are many videos on YouTube about it.

Hello good..

It is true that since you updated the latest version of the App it consumes a little more, but not such disproportionate data.

I'm still on Android 15.

[[NO-TRANS]]
