👉Should we settle for the life that people with diabetes live?
I think not.
We should not settle for each blood glucose level marking our mood.
We should not settle for explaining over and over again what hypoglycemia is.
We must not settle for society normalizing our daily efforts as if it were “what we have to do.”
It's time to be nonconformists. To continue saying loud and clear that we need support, understanding and solidarity. That we appreciate new technologies, yes.But we don't want to stay stagnant. We want research to advance until it changes everything.
Therefore, from theDiabetes Cure Research Association (DCRA)and the Guipuzcoan Diabetes Association (AGD) are promoting a challenge that is much more than sport:
🏃♂️7x7x7 Challenge x Diabetes
The challenge is to run7 marathons, in 7 days, in 7 cities in the Basque Country.
Seven consecutive days proving that diabetes does not stop us.
Seven cities carrying a clear message: diabetes hurts, weighs and is tiring... but we don't give up.
Seven opportunities to tell society that we need their involvement.
The challenge is led by the athleteAna Isabel Pineda, but this is not just one person's challenge. It is the challenge of an entire community.
💪Why do we do it?
Because we still need more research.
Because we still need more social awareness.
Because we still need more real support.
This challenge has a double objective:
- Make diabetes visiblebefore society.
- Raise funds for scientific researchthat brings us closer to a better quality of life.
How can you participate?
You don't have to run 7 marathons to be part of the change:
- Run with us in some of the stages.
- Buy a solidarity bib.
- Donate kilometers.
- Share the challenge and help us amplify the message.
Every gesture adds up.Every kilometer counts.Every donation brings us closer to the future we deserve.
We are not satisfied.
We do not lower our arms.
We do not accept that this is “what it is.”
Your help is important to materialize the change we need.
