Does anyone use or have used omnipod 5?
It has been in Spain for not long but I don't know if it is financed in any community.
I have seen a page of diabetes products and they sell it.
I was curious to try it. I could afford it for a month. Not after, of course.

Hello @meginer,
The truth is that this pump looks very good.
I have been put off by conventional pumps because I have the feeling that they must be uncomfortable for sleeping, for doing sports, involuntary jerks, obstruction of the catheter, having to disconnect them to shower (or in swimming pools and beaches), etc...
Since a patch-type pump does not have tubes, I understand that it offers greater comfort and freedom of movement, is much more discreet, and is also waterproof. It's like carrying another glucose meter, although a little bigger.
From what I see, it seems that it is not yet available in the Spanish public health system, although there are some patient associations that have requested it via change.org.
Let's see if there is anyone who has been using it privately, and can tell us how it works.

I guess it's a closed loop bomb, with its algorithm.I like that it doesn't have the catheter. What I don't like is that it is disposable, I say this because of the precision of the pins, I find that single-use systems are less precise, but it is still an advance.Another thing, using it for only a month is not going to help you much, you must have some learning...
It's the future...but not at that price.

Already.Additionally, you would need either the mobile app, which at the moment is only in the US, or a type of mobile phone that they give you with the system to be able to operate the pump.So the pumps alone don't work. The fact that it is disposable does not have to be bad in terms of precision. My endocrinologist told me that it won't take long to arrive and that it is the best seller in the US and in much of Europe. She likes it a lot.
But at the moment we don't have it in the hospitals.

I know two girls who are nurses and diabetes educators who carry this type of pump, I don't know if it is the same one.In addition, they use an independent system they call "artificial pancreas," an app created by diabetes associations to get more performance out of closed-loop pumps. There are them for Android and iPhone.
This is done outside of manufacturers and laboratories.
They have them placed on the arm next to the sensor.
I get lost with so much technology, but I know that it works very well for them.
