No diagnosis, without follow -up, without opportunities: 35% of patients with type 2 diabetes remain in the shadow.

More than 4.6 million people live with type 2 diabetes in Spain, but the most worrying thing is that a third does not even know that he has it.This not only implies a greater risk of complications, but a lost opportunity to improve the quality of life from the beginning.

This is revealed by the new "digital innovation and chronicity" report, presented by IESE and Abbott, which launches a clear call: we need a change in the system, focused on prevention, early diagnosis and equity in access to control tools such as free freestyle.

📍 The document proposes 17 measures to transform the address of the DM2 in Spain, including:

  • Therapeutic education adapted to each person.
  • Equitable access to continuous monitoring technology.
  • Incorporation of artificial intelligence to detect hidden cases.
  • Reinforcement of the role of nursing as an accompaniment engine and change of habits.

Diabetes cannot remain invisible to the system or for society.

Because only from understanding and support, we can move towards a more human and fair model.
