Insulin bomb and teachers

Hello again!

I have doubt again whether to put insulin bomb or not.I am not convinced by going with tubes, but there are days that are impossible for me, having to control the peaks that are produced by the phenomenon of Alba and from which it is in the afternoon, frustrates me a lot.In the background I know that for this it is better bomb.

The issue that the tubes do not convince me is basically because I am a child, and for a few years, I am also a teacher of children with special needs, so that entails (blows, grabs, having to run, throw you to the ground, hugs ♥ ️ ...).

I would like to know if there is someone who is in my situation and tells me their experience whether it carries it as if in the end it was not encouraged (or in a situation).

Thank you!

T1 diagnosticada a los 24, tengo 32.
Además soy celiaca y con muchas alergias e intolerancias alimentarias, entre ellas profilina. Recientemente diagnosticada con hipotiroidismo también.

Hi @niñaburbuja!😊

I understand you perfectly, what a responsibility you have with the kids!

And also with hugs, races and unforeseen events of the day to day ... I think it is very normal for you to worry about the topic of the tubes.

I've been with the YpSopump bomb, and the truth: I'm very happy.

Yes, it is a bit more uncomfortable to wear than the bolis, I will not deceive you, but I also tell you that the change in the control of my levels has been brutal. What I value most is that it makes small automatic corrections depending on glucose, and that has made the difference, especially in the Alba peaks and in the afternoon, which you mention.I also had those ups and downs that deranged me, and with the bomb they have improved a lot.

In addition, it is a fairly discreet and manageable bomb.Perhaps in your case you could explore placement options (as in the lower back or thigh) to minimize the risk with the kids, which we already know that they have high impact hugs 😄

Hopefully you are encouraged, but above all, that you make the decision that best suits your life. And if you have more doubts, here we are for what you need 💙

A strong hug, and thanks for sharing your experience.

Is there anyone else that this dilemma has been raised or who is already using bomb with children around?

Surely your message helps many!

Thank you very much Fer!The truth is that hearing that they really help with those peaks is quite helpful.🤗🤗

There are pumps without catheter. They are a bit larger than a sensor and do not carry tubes ...

I do not even consider putting a pump until they are all without a catheter and the closed handle systems are more developed.

The same can be done with bolis applying small doses, when necessary.

I know one, but it seems to me that it is too big for me, I am a child size 😅😅

Thank you!

Hello. The problem is not that there are pumps with or without catheter. The problem begins with which Casa works your hospital. This is still a business. If your hospital works or has a contract with Roche, for example, they will only give you the option of the Roche bomb, with its pros and cons. They will do anything to put on what they charge for "selling."

I had a first and wonder. The second, which changed me one day, without further ado (without further

I returned to the bowling, and except for the puncture, I live freely than before (stop putting information about whether I am going to sports or not, if I am doing more or less physical effort, which I said that if and then because of circumstances it was not or the setback, to be aware of each pitid, for lack of coverage, because the battery, for this or the other, that it was a problem at work. All looking at me.I know my diabetes and how it works in my day to day and with better control than when I had the 2nd bomb they gave me.

That is my experience.Salu2

Good afternoon,

Tell you that possibly all of us who decided to move on to bomb, we had the same or similar doubts to which you have.In my case, what made me consider to pass me to bomb were several, step on listing them:

First of all find a small pump, with little weight, with closed Loop system, with an algorithm with good scientific references and also that its handling was done through a mobile phone, as you can see did not ask little.

The reason why I needed to change was because despite my excellent controls, basal insulin is a horse impossible to domesticate when you do sports daily. Second place there is talk of the slavery of carrying the infus all day on top, I wore the feathers all day on top too and I was tired of visiting services to inject myself.Terrible, ended up, with the suffering that caused my children.

I do not extend anymore, I tell you the current one, I carry the pump YPSOPump with McG Freestyle 3 Plus, I do not find out that I carry it, I do crossfit to daily burpees, squats, flexions, rowing, dominated, arthophilia and I have never removed it, nor has it bothered me, on weekends mountain bicycle, roads, road, mountain, mountain 60-90 km.

My advice if you allow it, pint your fear and try it, I hope you dissipate your doubts.

If you have any questions here you have me,

Greetings and may your decision help you improve your health and your life.
