Last week, an event that leaves many valuable reflections took place in the Municipal Auditorium of El PesóIII Health Days Alejandro Plaza, focused onType 2 diabetes, a condition that, although many know of hearing, remains a great unknown.

More than 150 people, including health professionals, patients and relatives, participated in a day where clear, without technicalities, and with a lot of heart. And one of the great protagonists wasAdrián Díaz, known in social networks asDon Sacarino.

👨‍⚕️ Who is Don Sacarino?

Adrián is a nurse specializing in pediatrics, nutritionist, and above all, a great communicator. With thousands of followers in networks, he has become known for his videos analyzing what we eat - from yogurt cookies -, dismantling myths and teaching us to look at the labels with other eyes.

But beyond networks,His commitment to people with diabetes is real and close. In these days he offered two talks in which he explained what type 2 diabetes is, why it is so common and so little understood, and how to live with it naturally, information and without fear.

"My goal is to help people with diabetes get their condition better and get a healthy, pleasant and flexible adaptation," Adrián said during his speech.

🔍 Why these types of days matter (and much)

We know thatType 2 diabetesIt represents a great public health challenge. It was very well explained by the Councilor for Health and Consumption of Linares, Antonio Luis Hervás, when inaugurating the event:

"It is vital to raise awareness about the importance of prevention, early diagnosis and proper management of this disease, which consumes a large amount of resources of our health system."

From here we applaud that these days have the endorsement of scientific societies such as Asanec and are in the process of accreditation by the Andalusian Health Quality Agency.

🗣️ An open conversation with multiple voices

In addition to the talks, aRound tablevery enriching in which health professionals from different areas participated ... and something very valuable:The direct vision of a person with type 2 diabetes, the pharmacist Francisco Javier Palacios.

Because talking about diabetes is not just talking about figures or drugs. It is talking about emotions, routines, fears and how you can live well with this condition when you have the proper support, information and attitude.

💬 This type of initiatives remind us of something essential:Type 2 diabetes should not be lived in silence or resignation, but with clear information and community support.
