Toujeo from 120 mg to 28 in half an hour

Today it happened to me.

I have a very cold and I have barely had dinner, no carbohydrates, I only put on the Toujeo and after half an hour it dropped from 150 to 60 and plummeting downwards, I had to drink 2 cold Cokes because the sensor and the glucometer already read 50. And I was very dizzy.

With the cold and neck pain, the half-digested dinner, the paracetamol, the Coca-Colas and everything, I have been very upset.

If you fixed it with two Cokes and you didn't get a high afterwards, you fixed it very well.

I read somewhere that paracetamol altered the measurement of the sensors....but if you were dizzy it would be real hiccups.

The same thing has happened to me with Lantus, Tresiba and Apidra, and with the glutes, abdomen and legs.And all of them with 4mm needles.I would say that it is impossible to have punctured the muscle.
When I tell the endocrinologists, even showing them the brutal drop in the sensor graph, they tell me that it can't be, that that doesn't happen.

And yes, unfortunately it conditions you for the rest, because in the absence of detecting some factor that escapes me, the event seems random.

Did you bleed a little after the puncture?It is possible that a small part of the insulin was absorbed through a broken vein... I can't think of any other explanation, unless you had taken a rapid dose to lower a glucose spike.

Good morning, it has happened to me 3 times in about 6 years but with Abasaglar.Twice the puncture bled and the last time, about 4 months ago, it didn't bleed at all.

The truth is that it is quite difficult, especially because of the nerves you get when you see how your glucose drops at full speed.

My need for insulin does not decrease with the heat.I have increased basal 2 units and fast too.With the years of evolution, the needs increase.

It's not so much that my need for insulin decreases but that sometimes it is absorbed too quickly.That causes declines and fear makes me put in less.

And well, when I see that 5 minutes after taking the insulin, the sugar drops sharply, it does seem to me that it becomes more powerful than when it acts at its normal speed.I would say almost double.

I would say that this hypoglycemia is not the Tougeo.You may have another insulin taken from before or even the insulin you took the day before, along with physical activity during the afternoon and/or having eaten less that day.

Another thing would be if you had punctured directly in a small vein, in the leg there is more risk of that...but it is very difficult for it to happen.If this happens, part of the insulin enters the blood and acts immediately.
