I Meeting of Paps, Moms and relatives of children and young people with diabetes

Admi, the Murcia Association for Diabetes Care, organizes a training day for parents of children with diabetes, with the aim of getting the family to acquire their own skills for the optimal care of their children's diabetes, increase their knowledge and skillsPractices and share experiences with others that also have diabetes, while fingers the personal, social and educational development of their children, prevent the long -term complications of the child and increase security and resources on a day -to -day basis withdiabetes

The I Encounter of Parents will take place next Saturday, March 7, at the Dukes de Palma pavilion, Del Pilar de la Horadada (Alicante), for which Admi -making available to attendees free buses.

The program has the participation of the two attached pediatric endocrine of the H.U.V.De la Arrixaca, Dr. Arantxa Escribano and Dr. José Mª Martos, the Bayer Diabetes Diabetes Care, Rocío Reina, from Seville, the psychologist Patricia Zamora, and the Food Technologist responsible for the Naos Program of the City of Murcia,Begoña Patiño.

The urgent issues most demanded by parents will be discussed, such as the day to day of the child with diabetes at school, the feeding of the child and the young man with diabetes (glycemic index, rations, calories and food labeling), situations.Dramatic in school canteens and extracurricular activities, continuous insulin infusion pumps in babies, children and young people with diabetes and the changes and/or disorders in the eating habits of these children, the round table being the most highlighted: “All your questions have an answer ... by the hand of Dr. Arantxa Escribano ”, where this specialist will be addressed by the concerns and anxieties of the parents of these children, who live with the instability of diabetes 365 days a year.

In addition, attendees will be able to enjoy other services prepared so that this day is complete, with Jacuzzi and Spa, while their children have available nursery service, with recreational and sports activities, medical assistance service for glycemic control and ambulance.
