Does anyone have more information about bariatric surgery? ... It sounds like not for much that someone said that type 2 diabetes had cure with surgery ...

Bariatric surgery solves type 2 diabetes in 78.1% of cases, according to a study

78.1 percent of patients undergoing bariatric surgery (obesity treatment) experiences a complete resolution of their type 2 diabetes after the intervention and 86.6 percent achieved resolution or improvement, maintaining those resultsTwo years later, according to the data of a study presented at the XIV World Congress of the International Federation for Obesity Surgery and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), which is celebrated these days in Paris (France).

The analysis included more than 135,000 patients and showed that the signs-both clinical and laboratory-of diabetes improved. The average of global weight loss in meta -analysis was 38.5 kilograms, which represents 55.9 percent of excess weight.

In this sense, after surgery insulin levels descended significantly as hemoglobin A1C and fasting glucose did, all important markers of type 2 diabetes, the direction of Congress reported in a statement.

"There is no doubt that the growing levels of obesity and overweight are fanning a spectacular increase in type 2 diabetes levels worldwide. Although some patients can control their diabetes with medications and changes in their lifestyle, others experience levelsHigh morbidity, "said the president of the IFSO Congress, Jean-Marc Chevallier.

"Given this situation, it is essential that we actively seek new strategies to handle the disease. Bariatric surgery constitutes an important promise in this field and, as an organization, we have the commitment to study the best way to use this branch of medicine for the benefit ofPatients, "he added.

Insulin resistance is reduced, more exercise can be done, HC is better metabolized ... It is a spiral in which everything improves ... just the same mechanism of the new batch of treatments with incredine hormones.

Here are information about a review of the bibliography on bariatric surgery:

The summary is that: Safety tests are even less clear. They must be carefully interpreted by comparative security and effectiveness, due to the limitations of the tests and the poor quality of the trials ....
