Neurologists will create the Spanish Network of Research on Peripheral Neuropathy in Diabetics

More than 40 neurologists from all over the country will discuss this weekend in Barcelona the creation of the Spanish Network of Research on Peripheral Neuropathic Pain in patients with diabetes, within the framework of the National Meeting on Peripheral Diabetic Neuropathy that will be held under the motto ''Of the basic mechanisms to clinical management '.

In a statement, event organizers reported that the objective is to deal with problems such as the difficult diagnosis and treatment not always adequate of the ailment, which affects up to 20 percent of diabetics.

The peripheral is the most common form of diabetic neuropathy, a nervous system disorder associated with diabetes.The ailment considerably affects the quality of life of patients by causing pain, weakness in the limbs, anxiety, ulcers and even amputations.
