Hello,

I just read a promising news for those who are under treatment with Semaglutida, a drug for type 2 diabetes and weight control.French researchers have developed an innovative hydrogel that could reduce semaglutidal injections only once a month, which is a great advance.

This new administration system uses a special hydrogel that releases the semaglutida slowly and constantly for 1 to 3 months. Thus, instead of having to inject weekly, as is the case currently, only monthly injection would be necessary.

Dr. Claire Mégret, of the Biotechnological Company Adocia in Lyon, explained that this innovation could greatly improve the quality of life of those who live with type 2 diabetes or that we use semaglutida to control the weight.By reducing injections, it would be easier to meet the treatment and maintain more stable levels of the drug in the body, which could reduce side effects.

In tests carried out with rats, the hydrogel showed a constant liberation of semaglutida for a month, with good tolerance and without inflammatory reactions. The next steps include trying this technology in animals with systems more similar to humans, such as pigs, and if everything goes well, clinical trials could be performed in the coming years.

This advance could mean a great relief for many, making the treatment much easier and more effective.

What do you think of this innovation?

Would you like to try something like that?

Greetings,
