The Ministry of Health will contribute 15,580 euros to the Association DIESPLETICS ASSOCIATES RIOJANOS for the performance of health activities.This economic collaboration has been regulated in a collaboration agreement signed today by the Minister of Health, José Ignacio Nieto, and the president of the Association Association Associates Riojans, Alberto Avenoza Mañas.

The main task of the Association of Associate Diabetics Riojans is to "inform and guide those affected and carry out dissemination campaigns about diabetes," said Nieto.To do this, they conduct interviews with the associates, with patients who request it and with their relatives, once the disease is diagnosed.

The association, which has 342 associates, also serves telephone to inform or resolve doubts and develop different annual diabetological days, seminars, and edit magazines and newsletters.In addition, they organize self -help and self -control groups of diabetes.

The programs they carry out consist, fundamentally, in offering guidance, advice and information on diabetes disease as well as disseminating dissemination campaigns on such disease.

In 2009, the association served 215 people who requested information or advice on this disease.He also offered talks about diabetes in the homes of older people in Arnedo, Calahorra, Alfaro, Haro, among others, and organized a food and diabetes course, among other activities.
