ACODI Organize talks on the occasion of World Diabetes Day

The Coruña Association of People with Diabetes (ACODI) will celebrate throughout the week a complex program of events to commemorate World Diabetes Day, which is held next Sunday, November 14, and that this year focuses on this yearin improving the knowledge of the disease in all social sectors.

To begin with, next Thursday, two informative talks will be held at the headquarters of the Association (Avenida de Arteixo, 85).At 7 pm.Daniel López López, an associate professor of the Department of Health Sciences of the University of Coruña, will explain podiatry prevention in the diabetic foot, a ailment that affects a good part of those who suffer from this disease for a long time.

At 20 hours, Venancio Chantada, head of the Urology Service of the Hospital Complex of A Coruña, will talk about sexuality and erectile dysfunction, a problem derived from complications in blood circulation, which many diabetics suffer.As a presentation to these conferences, the president of ACODI, Lola Rama, will read the World Diabetes Day Manifesto, focused for the second consecutive year on improving the understanding and prevention of this disease.

On November 12, an informative table will be installed in the Plaza de Lugo, between 10 and 14.And the next day, Saturday, November 13, ACODI members will meet with the other five associations of the Galician Diabetes Federation to travel the last meters of the English road.
