They are still in evidence

The University of Seville creates insulin nanoparticles oral for diabetics

A research group from the University of Seville, led by the professor of the Faculty of Pharmacy Mercedes Fernández, is developing prolonged liberation insulin nanoparticles for the oral administration of the diabetics, without the need for them to have to be injected.

This new pharmacological technology - which is now being tested in animals - is called 'Flow Focusing' and is patented by the group of the Department of Energy Engineering and Mechanics of Fluids of the Higher School of Industrial Engineers of the Hispanic, which also participates inThe project.

This methodology allows to produce drops of sizes 'nano' and micrometric sizes, generated in a bathroom and formed by a polymer, insulin and an organic solvent.

This solvent evaporates and the drop ends up solidifying, which obtains the solid particle, explained a member of the research group, which has indicated that the work of the same consists in developing the formulations that allow optimizing the final product, whichThey are the nanoparticles.
These particles must be all homogeneous, of a perfectly defined size, with specific superficial characteristics and with proper insulin content, and must be able to release biomolecule at the speed that interests, he pointed out.

Insulin Nanoparticles have already been developed and now, the research group endocrinology, metabolism and clinical nutrition of the Faculty of Medicine of the Hispanic is testing them in genetically modified mice to make them diabetics

Diagnosticada en Agosto del 2009, solicite la curva de glucosa, diabetes melitus II, actualmente tomo Jentadueto, dos al día. Glicosilada 6,4

From ignorance:
I imagine that two problems will have solved: the solvent function of the stomach and the passage of insulin to the bloodstream.
