Hello, I am 39 years old and I have 7 with type II diabetes. At first there were many doubts and they were not clarified with the diagnosis, each doctor told me one thing. In the end after several curves and a strict diet is compensated. Now the glycosilada is uploading to me, in the penultimate analytical in January I was 6.7, the head doctor who waited 2 months told me and tried to diet as strict as possible and to exercise.I get off at 6.6 and told me that it didn't send me medication and that another 3 months with the same treatment (diet and exercise).A friend got me a machine to be able to do me controls at home and know what things are better or worse. The first day in my opinion has been disastrous:
-DoSayuno: 2 hours of after 140 (a glass of milk + 2 biscottes)
-comid: 2 hours later 187 (green beans, sole, tangerine and 50 g. of bread)
I have a disgust that I die, in my life I have seen 187 in the machine or when I was pregnant. Will I need the happy metformin?I am worried about wasting time only with diet and exercise.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum
Are you stable in weight? Moreover, you are within a reasonable weight?
It's the only thing you have not commented, that's why I ask.
They are not crazy figures, do not scare yourself, the nerves also make glycemia.
Glycemia is affected by many rule variables, infections, nerves ... and sometimes it can happen that you have a small climb like that
In principle a 6.6, more or less, is an acceptable glycosilad
Giving you metformin may get a little more glycosilada, but I imagine that your doctor will think more globally, at cardiovascular risk and complications ... All studies show that being below 7% is enough to not have complications.
It is also said that not by lowering 6% you have risk or complications, even the mortality index increases ...
So neither so much nor so little.
You could ask your doctor the reasons for the refusal to give you metformin. To explain that you will surely understand.Sometimes doctors treat us as fools who do not give them better information.
For me this is the most important.

Hi Owash, what a speed !!!I am fine, 52 kg and I measure 1.60.Landy almost 10 kg when I put diet 7 years ago, it is the only good thing I have taken from this disease, I am in the size with which I always dreamed, hehehej.
In the previous analytics he told me that he would probably send me the medication but seeing that he had not uploaded the glycosilada, but that he had dropped a little because he decided that it was not necessary.I was already mentalized to start and there was a little pictures. And of course it is not endocrine I tend to distrust, I am wrong, but it has told me that the endocrine with those figures does not attend me, the only thing if I go privately and I am not for private right now unless it was strictly necessary.
You have left me more quiet, it is the same thing to look at my glucose on my own because what I do is emparanoiar me without need.
Thank you.Greetings

Welcome to the forum, my case is quite similar to yours .. It is also type II and my glycosiladOn a diet and that I got weight, but after a year and a half they diagnosed it since I went from 7 glycosilada and they prescribed my pill, but they don't give me device or strips either .. with these values, with the analytics every 6 months they sayThat is enough ... the specialist does not attend me, the family doctor ..
Encouragement and greetings

Thank you for answering Marigu, it is a comfort to see that I am not an isolated case, because I really do not know anyone in my same situation. So as long as it does not pass from 7 in glycosilada, the thing is not going wrong.I will try to relax and see what happens in the next analytical that I have in June.

By the way, with the pill you also have to follow a strict diet or can it be more relaxed?I am obsessed with carbohydrates, all day doing calculations.

The pill is an aid to the diet and daily exercise, by itself does nothing, I still control the food in not spending in carbohydrates, no sweets, bowling and fast food ... exercise and the pill and the pill andEven so, fasting the other day I was doing a test to the nurse gave me in 137 ... so patience ...: D

I see that each doctor is a world.
I, the most I know that I have had 150 on an empty stomach. But as soon as I go to my doctor, and before even sending me a hemo (tomorrow I will see the nurse), he has prescribed metformin.Instead, he has not told me much about diet or anything else.
I try to follow a half diet, and do some exercise, but on my own.And yes, without glocometer or strips.
