You have type2 diabetes, I imagine.

In these patients any change in food or lifestyle can improve their diabetes.On the other hand, in type 1 while carrying good control, those changes are useless.

I think your problem is that you have strong insulin resistance.Insulin resistance can be improved by changing the diet and exercising (especially weights but even walking is good).Investigate a little about low carbohydrates or ketogenic diets because they can help you.There are more and more doctors and nutritionists who recommend them for weight loss or diabetes and give good results.
I have been a low hydrates diet for a year (more or less about 30 - 50 grams a day of hydrate and I get them from vegetables, some fruit, dairy, nuts and some legume or potatoes from time to time)And I have greatly improved my controls, I have gone from hemoglobins from 7 to 5.5 and I have quite flat glucose curves between 80-120 most of the time.After meals many times I do not pass from 120 and sometimes I reach 150 at most and is usually to miscalculate the fast dose.
