The Andujar Diabetics Association (Adan) asks for a diabetes unit

It is a "historical claim" of the Diabetics Association in a region with more than 10,000 affected by the disease

The Andujar Diabetics Association (ADAN) is one of the pioneers in the province of Jaén to bring together diabetes and relatives.An association that was born in a region with a high index of affected by this pathology since, according to different studies, the number of people with this disease diagnosed in Spain is approaching 5 million.In the Iliturgitan region there would be more than 10,000 people affected by this disease, which represents around 23% of the total patients throughout the province of Jaén.A percentage much higher than the national and regional average.

That is why since the High Resolution Hospital Center (Chare) Alto Guadalquivir de Andújar opened their doors, they have tried to convince the Ministry of Health to implement a comprehensive and multidisciplinary care unit for diabetics.A claim that they have been doing for a decade and that has not yet been treated.Thus, this petition has been collected by the Andalusian parliamentarian of the PP, Ángeles Isac, who will question the Minister of Health on why the Alto Guadalquivir hospital still does not count on a unit of care for diabetics

The regional deputy of the PP of Jaén said that Andújar's strategic plan in her action No. 82, classified with a high priority level says: «Promote centralized and multidisciplinary management of the diabetic care process in coordination with the Comprehensive Diabetes Planof Andalusia.This strategic action is based on guaranteeing the early detection and treatment of diabetic patients in the area covered by the Alto Guadalquivir hospital through a coordinated and multidisciplinary process that incorporates the presence of professionals from different care levels in accordance with the Comprehensive Planof Andalusia diabetes and attending the recommendations of the European Union ».

A plan that in its day, back in 2006, signed the Junta de Andalucía and has not yet fulfilled.Isac emphasized the need to extend to Andújar what was the II Comprehensive Diabetes Plan of Andalusia 2009-2013, and respond to a "historical claim" since "diabetes is one of the most frequent health problems, witha great health and social impact ».
