An application for diabetes made in Extremadura

A new application to regulate the treatment against diabetes made by a group of Extremaduran sanitary has managed to be placed as the number 1 app in the world's medicine category for almost two weeks.

The application for mobile phones, called 'Diabetes Pharma', was launched on September 8, and in less than a month some 4,000 health professionals have already been downloaded, 1,000 in Spain and the rest outside the borders.

His success has made Apple's application store --apple store - choose the new application logo as an image of the 'Medicine' category, as highlighted by the Government of Extremadura.

'Pharma Diabetes' serves to facilitate health professionals to choice the most appropriate treatment in each case for the treatment of diabetes mellitus 2 -the variety of this pathology that suffers 90 percent of diabetics -, following the guidelines marked inThe DM2 treatment document, approved last spring by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD).

The idea started from the director of the Ebersalud, Higinio Salgado (nurse and economist) company, and Luis Miguel Luengo (Endocrine and Professor of the UEX Faculty of Medicine), Vicente Caballero (family doctor), have collaborated in their development,Antonio Salgado (Vascular Surgeon), Alberto Peinado (Nurse), Almudena López de Silva (nurse), Marisa Morera (nurse), Pedro Suero (nurse and professor at the SES School of Nursing) and Julián Salgado (nurse).

The new application is available in Spanish, English, French, German and Portuguese, both for Apple phones and for those who use the Android system.
