AVD denounces health suppresses autocontrol glymia

AVD Denunciation Heal

According to an AVD statement, on February 10 Health presented the "Proper use of blood glucose reactive strips", a document for professionals who, according to this entity, is "full of exclusions and omissions" and raises "The elimination of reactive strips to patients with type 2 diabetes and treatment with pills. "

The association has assured that, according to official data in 2008, the Department of Health prescribed reactive strips to measure glucose only to less than half of patients with diabetes.

That year, according to the ADVD, 58,154,000 reactive strips were supplied to 132,144 patients, which means that each patient with diabetes consumed 1'2 reactive strips per day.

They also point out that 50% of consumption is made by patients with type 2 diabetes, and criticize that with the new "recommendations" they will see "their only self -control tool" disappear.

"The suppression of this instrument for patients is not accompanied by any other measure that palpates this potentially dangerous situation," they say in the statement.

These cuts, which also affect patients with type 1 diabetes and gestational diabetes, "are not accompanied by any measure that guarantees a better control of the disease or helps patients improve their self -control and prevent complications".

In addition, they criticize that the decision to suppress the reactive strips for the determination of blood glucose to type 2 patients, especially those treated with secretagogues due to the danger of hypoglycemia, "goes radically against most national and international consensus."

The Association also ensures that the Department of Health "is limited to preparing successive publications that do not improve patient care suffering from this disease and more and more cutting the human and material resources destined for this pathology," he adds.

In AVD's opinion, diabetological education is "non-existent in primary and very deficit care in specialized care, and there is no interest or plans to implement this service, despite being the 52nd objective of the Health Plan 2005-2009".

They also point out that the electoral promise of Francisco Camps is still "breached" to "implement Podic Diabetic Patient care plan."

In the case of patients with diabetic retinopathy, according to the association, "they are undergoing difficulties to be reviewed by specialists, deriving them towards a little trained primary care to attend their pathologies or performing ophthalmological reviews lacking care rigor."EFE

Shameful.

I think that the best way to get the colors is to publish how much they will save with the strips and, as a consequence, how much they will spend for the complications outlined by bad control. When it is published that they will save 10 at the expense of spending 100, they will be left as the ass, with forgiveness.

What happens is that they save now and those who will pay will be the ones who come (economically I say, because the big payers will be, as always, the sick)

If you want to save, I think they should start by eliminating so much useless position, both regional parliament, both advisor, so much ...

This is incredible !!!What are still suppressing !!!The insulin units also limit us!
In Andalusia I have already lived it.A daily strip, maximum of three if you are decompensated (seriously) or are planning a pregnancy or you are pregnant.
Nor that we liked being all day by clicking our fingers and having them like strainers !!!
I am with Alea, we would have to make a comparative cost of costs and see what result it is spending on strips and without spending on strips (with its consequences)
I'm going to warm the lentils that I have very angry !!!

At the moment I have not had problems, the doctor who prescribes them does not make any inconvenience, it is also true that I need very little, I control every 15 days.

It is a shame to spend money in other mamarrachas and that nobody says anything, and the necessary things cut them.: Oops:

According to the "recommendations" you would not be entitled to any strip.
According to the "experts" of the Ministry, type 2 with oral antidiabetics do not need reactive strips.

And they will implement it economically encouraging doctors who reduce spending for this concept.
Any adjective falls short.

CERMI CV adds to the mobilizations due to the withdrawal of the distribution of reactive strips to measure glucose
Valencia, Mar. (Europa Press) -

The committee of representatives of people with disabilities of the Valencian Community (Cermi CV) said today, through a statement, which adds to the mobilizations due to the suppression of the dispensation of reactive strips of blood glucose determination. This claim is done coinciding with the celebration of World Kidney Day, since diabetes is the main cause of renal transplantation in Spain.

The CERMI CV considered "very important" to raise awareness of the "need for prevention" of chronic renal failure through the "early detection of diabetes and hypertension, which are the most frequent triggers" of thisdisease.

Following the presentation, by the Department of Health, of the manual 'Adequate use of reactive strips for glucose determination', the Valencian Association of Diabetes, the "most representative" organization of patients with diabetes in the CommunityHe denounced the "elimination of reactive strips to patients with type 2 diabetes and pills treatment."

In this sense, the Nursing Council of the Valencian Community (Cecova), together with the Valencian Association of Educators in Diabetes (AVED), also criticized "the generalized and drastic withdrawal of reactive strips to diabetic patients."

The CERMI CV and its Health Commission said it adheres to the claims of the groups of patients and nurses, and urged the Valencian health authorities to "take into consideration the contributions of these groups and to reformulate the restrictive measures adopted towards measures that driveDiabetological prevention and education programs, which include training patients and health professionals. "

Prevention and health education is the "most effective way to prevent chronic diseases and, consequentCERMI CV Health Commission presented to the Department of Health with the objective of "improving relations between health institutions and organizations at the service of people with disabilities

what a beautiful press release : twisted:

The matter has already reached politics ... as almost always too late: Link

Morera regrets that the Generalitat "spends money happily on things that are not useful" and leave "helpless" health

The spokesman for Compromís, Enric Morera, regretted today that the Generalitat "spends money happily on things that are not useful and in important issues such as health leaves many sectors of our society."Thus, he assured that he will ask the Minister Manuel Cervera for a "rectification" to the Ministry's decision to withdraw the reactive strips for diabetics and "continue to facilitate the reactive strips to patients for free."

Morera, in a statement, stressed that his group has registered a parliamentary question addressed to the head of Health, Manuel Cervera, to "give a true answer and if it is true" that they intend to withdraw this test for diabetics.

In this sense, he warned that if this measure is carried out "many older people with low income will not be able to buy this product in pharmacies

Morera said that last Wednesday, the Ministry presented a manual on the proper use of reactive strips that "as we have known by diabetic associations, is full of half truths, exclusions and omissions" and also raises the "elimination of theobligatory by public health to facilitate the strips of patients with type 2 diabetes and pills treatment. "

In addition, "we know that the manual has been prepared by 16 advisors and none of them represents patients", so "the section on the participation of citizen associations as collects the 2005-2009 Health Plan of the Ministry of the Department of the Department of the Ministry ofHealth".
