The researchers discovered that the non -obese diabetic experimental models treated with leptin or insulin demonstrated similar levels of blood sugar and disease recovery.However, treaties only with leptin, or in combination with insulin, showed a lower fluctuation of blood glucose, body fat formation and cholesterol levels compared to treaties only with insulin.

What I understand is that leptin decreases weight and cholesterol ... which decreases the risk of heart attacks or similar and improves glycemic control when losing weight ... but from there to replace insulin with leptin: shock:
