Adile - Diabetes workshops for children and parents

The Diabeticos de León Association, with the collaboration of two pediatricians, promotes a series of courses to achieve a better education in dealing with this disease

The Association of Diabetics of León Adile, in collaboration with the pediatricians Juan Pablo Martínez Badás and Laura Regueras Santos, deputy doctors of pediatrics, Endocrinology and Child Diabetes section of the Hospital de León, has begun some workshops aimed at diabetic children and parents, withThe purpose of getting a better education in the treatment of diabetes.
The workshop, held in the halls of the Infantas de León hotel, dealt with ‘Food and Diabetes: General notions.Children together with Dr. Laura Regueras Santos have learned to differentiate and classify the different types of food, according to ED Carbon hydrates and the incidence that they have in the control of diabetes, while Dr. Juan Pablo Martínez Badas performed with theparents and family the same workshop on food and diabetes.

This workshop has been the first of a series that we will continue to carry out throughout the year, being planned to perform next June 18 at the Infantas de León hotel, with the theme: ‘Diabetes and vacations/trips: Preparations.Eating outside.Summer.Camps.Traveling by plane.
