Boehringer Ingelheim and Lilly pharmaceutical companies have launched an electronic educational game on type 2 diabetes (DM2) designed to raise awareness about the many complications associated with this pathology.

The game, called Complications Combat.

As reported by the pharmaceutical Boehringer Ingeleheim, which has its headquarters in Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona), the goal of the game is to treat type 2 diabetes and its complications "effectively".

The player has to click or drag the healthy complications and attitudes to control the disease on one side of the screen to maintain the optimal health of the patient as much time as possible.

In the course of the game, the user learns the great diversity of complications associated with type 2 diabetes, as well as the positive life habits options that can help you face the progression of the disease.

As the difficulty of the game increases, the user knows the challenge that he can assume for doctors and patients to take into account at the same time all these complications and lifestyle options.

Type 2 diabetes without controlling can cause hyperglycemia, which in turn, if not treated, can produce serious complications in different parts of the organism in the long term.

Diabetes -related complications are, among others, cardiovascular accidents, stroke, renal failure, eye diseases and foot ulcers.

It is estimated that 371 million people suffer from type 1 or type 2 diabetes worldwide.
