Hello!
I am new in this forum (some will meet me about another forum;)) and I wanted to tell you what K is happening to me in case you know any case.
I am diabetics for 6 and a half years, good control, zero complications.
The story began last week when I began to have vision problems with the right eye. These problems have remained a black curtain that does not let me see anything around the top of the eye.
I went to the emergency room where they diagnosed me inflammation of the optic nerve. They hospitalized me and have been giving me a treatment of three corticosteroid bowling for three days intravenously that must be the usual in diabetics to prevent glucose imbusted for too long (apparently, corticosteroids have that effect).
From what they told me, neuritis could be due to various causes.Once the most serious (a tumor, a sclerosis) with a resonance, they do not know howvein that goes to the optic nerve.
I wanted to ask you if you have ever heard such a case.
Greetings and thanks for reading me :)!

Hi Anana!
I hope you go better little by little ...
Now what you have to do is recover and do everything the specialists tell you.
I know two cases like that, but one is from a girl who is not diabetic and went for multiple sclerosis and the other case is a friend who is diabetic and was also diagnosed with sclerosis.
In your case, if you say that it is not for sclerosis, I do not know, they will have to refine more in the study they do.
Wish you all the best!ah!In the case of my two friends, they have recovered their sight well.
A beautiful kiss and encouragement!:)

Hi Anana !!
I do not know any diabetic with that problem, but for a few years I am in a study group on the optical nerve and diabetes.Every year they make me the typical eye background, and then they do several tests related to the optical nerve, they "put luces" to stimulate it and then take pictures of the nerve to see if there is any change with last year. Now I do not remember exactly (there are things that I prefer to forget: P) But they told me that after 10 or a little more with diabetes the optical nerve can resent ... I think he told me, there are more problems with thenerve that with the retina.
I carry 22 diabetics and I think that the study is a bit desperate because it does not see any change in the nerve: P (this year they have not yet called me ...)
