Presentation and problem :(

Hello!!!I present myself, my name in Maria and I have a diabetic girl with 9 years diagnosed 1 year and 3 months ago.
Llantus and apidra ....
I have the next problem and I expose it because I have read the forum and I see that there are many people who are experts in matters for the situation.
When we lived in Spain Claudia carried a diet and click Apidra based on their sugar control never for what went to eat and carried (more or less) a good control, I mean that some hiccup had and some climb ....But it remained at levels D 100/180.
We arrive in Germany in July and the thing cannot be worse :( here we have changed td except insulin. Tell you that Llantus was clicking 6und and here we are already going for 11, it does not carry any type of diet (with the consequent lack of control of cholesterolThat true here or control), you can eat what you want and if you are not hungry and nothing happens eitherIt rises in 340 and other days at 60 .... it has D 2 to 3 hypos a day or more .....
I think that I must make the diet of Spain again and to the restrictions since what is at stake is my daughter's health ... not to say that she has gained weight.
And a last thing to embroider the poststone of post ... our accu-chek Aviva Nano has died.Does anyone know if possible (by not getting even even being the new batteries) download the chip info?
Thank you very much to the possible answers and delighted by Leados.;)

Do what goes best because the imo -chart is to maintain good control. The rapid always before the hydrates and according to the rations. If it is low before eating, open it with juice.
The Lantus is going to increase with growth, but it improves a lot because it lacks fast.
Do not lose sight of the fact that the imllower is to maintain glycosylated in good values.Welcome to the forum.!
I thought that in Germany this would have it very clear ...

Hi Claudia, welcome.

From what you say, there are things that you did better in Spain and things that you do better in Germany.I explain myself:

- Age 9 years: Prepare all kinds of insulin needs.Do not take the values given by doctors or slow or slow.It will vary according to your needs, usually more, but also at least.

- Diet in Spain: no diet is necessary. You just have to control the number of carbohydrates contained in the dishes you are going to take. For cholesterol, at 9 years, I wouldn't worry too much.

- Click Apidra based on your sugar control and not for what I was going to eat: serious error. The rapid insulin amount to be put before meals depends on its sugar level and the number of HC rations that will ingest. And also whether he has exercised or will do it, whether the food is fast or slow digestion, and if it is bad, and on himself ... but certainly depends a lot on what he will eat.

- In Germany, Lantus from 6 to 11: what you have to do is that the night without dances and that its value before meals is reasonable (80-120).

- Does not have any type of diet: as I told you, perfect. But knowing how many HC takes.

- If nothing happens: indeed, if the Lantus is well adjusted, it is the insulin that covers its normal needs.Fast insulin is to compensate for intakes.

- If you are less than 200, you should not click Apidra: False of all falsehood. You have to always click Apidra before eating to compensate for food. The amount you have to see it (how many fast insulin units need for each ration of 10gr of HC).

- 2 or 3 hypos a day: if it is without clicking Apidra, it is that the lantus is very high ... or coincides with days that has made a lot of execution, or eaten little, or ..

- Back to the diet does not have to improve its sugar levels.Look for that balance between well -adjusted slow insulin and fast insulin to compensate for meals.

Buff!Go brick. They throw me out of work!

Aaandres thank you very much for your message. Not at all brick if you say it to read it.
Lantus s click D Night and the truth I have uploaded 1und and now I don't get so high .... I don't know if I have echoed :( but I no longer lift 340 or 90 .... about 150/120...
With what I am in the lunches I am not very satisfied either but it is true that it does not reach the food very high (sometimes) ... but do I do?Doctor's TD step? And if something will happen and believe a guideline and then I say "no k goes ... if I think so better" aki they are * very special * for certain things and I don't know about me .....
Due to the diet, in Spain I mediated with a glass k comia it and had some rations .... I see the truth better.
The cholesterol would not worry if it were a high pokito .... but more d 300 if M worries.
D heart thanks to the k answer the messages.

Claudia, you know your daughter better than doctors, because you are the one who takes care of her, so she takes the reins of her treatment, which is what do you do. The doctors guide, but the day to day is yours.

Hello again, I have been quite lost because we have trompicones>: p.
Summarizing in September of clicking 18 from Llantus we had to go abruptly to 12 because he always walked with hypos:-/ then we have had to rise to 17 progressively because we had to adjust again. We continue to stay in He 8´5.Of course ... this summer again lost a lot
The good news (we expect) in January put the Myomnipod bomb.Stop clicking Lantus (Sto I don't understand very well) and they say he will have a better quality of life. They have also recommended the Labrador theme (can anyone inform me?).
In the end (maybe it was a bit bad to say it and worse to do it) I spent a bit of the guideline marked by the doctor in terms of supplying Apidra. As I commented if I was below 200 at lunch, it should not be punctured (it continues to puncture), then tried that at eating x 0´75 instead d x 1 (either do it because it did a couple of daysand reached the snack too high). The correctors also tried to change but we continue with the guideline that we arrived XK she dizzy, every day a different thing was pinxed and it was never fine.
We hope the topic of the pump functions and TD goes well

Rapid insulin must always be click before eating hydrates and according to the rations that are eaten.
A type 1 diabetes cannot be controlled only with Lantus.
I am seeing that many times they talk about "corrections" with fast, especially in Latin American countries, and the dose of rapid enough is not being put.I can't understand how they put such a treatment ..

Of course, bomb treatment will be better than the one I had. The Omnipod is a very comfortable bomb because it has no catheter, but, here in Spain, that bomb is not yet included in Social Security.

Hi Regina, thank you very much for your answer.I don't understand how here in Germany they are like this with the theme of "corrections" ... but it is so much from one doctor to another k I don't know what is better or worse @-)
There is no social security here as in Spain, they are private medical insurance (Sanitas, Adeslas and others), but for children it is all free including medication.Of course .... they do not put either bombs or other devices without a previous study of a specialist and if the insurance does not give the approval there is nothing to do.
For the topic of strips, insulin, needles, pensionr to be able to supply 0.5 UND and others ever any problem.
All the best.

Hi, Claudia! It will be difficult for you to find information about that bomb here, but they say it is the best there is right now.It has always seemed very good to me, because it does not carry a catheter and that is already a tremendous advantage.Dare to put your daughter because it is the best treatment you can offer you.And if it were attached to a continuous meter it would be better yet.
You will have to be you who informed us of how you are doing. In American forums you can inform yourself better.
Greetings!

Hello everyone !!Regina have given us a rapid insulin correction pattern, but no fast pattern before meals.Over time we learn and if there is a high value before a meal we put fast (or it is put on when you eat in the school), but not by express indication of the endo. For the endo we corrected when it is more than 250 with a 3ud pattern. We are from Galicia and not Latin America, and our endo is Galician. For us the main guideline is to use "demand" insulating, that is, go up or down according to physical activity.I will tell you that there is another child in the school of Iago that treats him Endo himself, but instead of Insulatard he carries Lantus, and the guidelines of correction and acting with the Lantus are the same, but on the contrary this child does have a guidelineof fast insulin .... If you can understand it, because I don't, I don't know why my son is not set for a quick insulin guideline ... I may have to ask for it .. ???It is a reflection aloud and I would also like to know your opinion.
A great greeting

Insulatard?Could it be that your child is under 6 years old and does not want Darrle Lantus?
It is that insulting it is almost not used.
Tell him if you can go to the pattern of Lantus and fast,
I imagine that with the insulating you will have fixed food schedules, coinciding with the action peak, but not good control with that guideline that you have ..

Mjclaudia, you know that in Germany you can change doctor without problems, right? In that sense you have much more to choose from.I believe that in general they have more diabetes specialized clinics.Where do you live?

Hi Tica, we go to a reference klinics in Berlin and the doctor is that several pediatricians recommended us (yes ... he is a uni teacher and only takes some cases, first he studies them and then tells you if he takes youor no).In principle we have spoken with other parents of diabetic children here and apparently it is "normal" to give you "strange" guidelines (under our point of view).
Also comment that if there are specialized diabetes but pediatric diabetologists, but few.

Hi Regina, in principle it is not linked to any continuous meter with what worries me a lot of "nocturnal hypo".Will we return to the nights of every 3h standing ????: (((

Claudia, if you regulate the dose in the pump, strás very quiet.
The lantus, well regulated, also decreases the nocturnal hypos to a minimum.

Hello everyone !!Regina tells you a little, (because as we had the firm before, ages and guidelines were already seen) my son is 12 years old, and if we have a meal schedule that we sometimes have to modify depending on school hours (September and June enters moreEarly school), but endo makes deaf.We ordered the lantus once and told me that it was an "old" and that I preferred the insulating. Now that it is older we are beginning to raise problems, especially when on weekends you wantIt is soon, because it is soon and if it's late because it's late.He is lucky that his friends are always adaptI am precisely happy with this and I do not like that the child systematically is on Mondays with the levels by the clouds.I think I will try in the next query to ask for insulin change or ask for it Iago because for what I see gives more freedom of action and if you have to puncture quickly the same because it is a puncture less. Thanks for your help, a hug

The advantage of the Kantus is that it frees you from schedules in meals, and you can make a very normal life. In addition you can eat all moisturizers, adjusting the doses of rapid in the meals.
And being a flat insulin, hypoglycemia are very small.
My daughter has changed her life. He puts it in the morning, at 11, to be able to sleep the weekend.
