A new space for people with diabetes was opened in Río Gallegos

In the facilities of the former Radio Club, patients with diabetes or obesity, they shared a snack at the same time that they were participating in an informative talk.Also, in this space they can make their consultations and share their experiences.Meanwhile, Carlos Muñoz, and Lic. Macías, in charge of these meetings, plans the second walk in commemoration for World Diabetes Day to be held on November 15.

A new space began yesterday, for people who have diabetes and/or obesity.It was carried out at the former Radio Club, located in Comodoro Rivadavia and Comodoro Py, where people with both diseases were present, and shared a snack, at the same time they were exposing their consultations, as well as externalized their experiences.

In this regard, Tiempour spoke with Carlos Muñoz, a member of the Lions Club of Río Gallegos, who carries out the initiative with Gabriela Macías, a degree in Nutrition.

"This first meeting arises since Gabriela is part of the Lions Club and last year we participated in the first health walk, which was commemorative for the month of the diabetic," said Muñoz.

For this reason and on the eve of a new commemoration of World Diabetes Day, they met again, since the second walk will be held for November 15, all invited, so many who have diabetes or obesity, such as thethat they wish to collaborate with donations, since they will be drawn.

Open doors- Meanwhile, next Saturday 8, where the Radio Club was, it will coordinate what the walk will be: “Lic. Macías focuses on the themes around nutrition, because this is a solidarity activity of which weWe want everyone to participate. ”

In this context, Carlos Muñoz said that "Gabriela is eager for people to become aware of food habits in diabetes" and added that people made many consultations around food.

The present people had eight, ten, or fifteen with the disease, being some dependent input, while others just start with pills, therefore “this place will be used to continue the informative talks and can make their consultation whoever wish”Muñoz expanded.

Similarly, he explained that it is a disease that will last a lifetime, so "we cannot limit ourselves to a diet, because there comes a time when you will not want to eat, you do not enjoy."
