Almost 3,500 schoolchildren from all educational centers in Ciutadella have participated in the human chain to raise awareness among diabetes.It is the first edition of Transdiabetes, a project arising from parents of children with this disease and who have 22 events in Spain scheduled.
In Ciutadella, with the involvement of the Association of Diabetics of Menorca (Adime), the objective has been to form a great human chain, with the participation of the students of all the primary and secondary centers of Ciutadella.The activity has been a success despite the rain that, initially it has begun in schools.After it has stopped raining, chain pieces have been formed in each center.
The participants have passed among them a blue year, a symbol of this activity.Transdiabetes will culminate on November 14 on which World Diabetes Day is celebrated.Some 5 million people suffer from this disease in Spain.
