Argentina: Diabetes Awareness Conference at "Juan Baggio" Health Center

Organized by the “Juan Baggio” Health Center, today an awareness day on diabetes will be held.

For this, there will be a sanitary device at the intersection of 25 de Mayo and Spain streets and with the participation of community health promoters of the E. co.S. and Nursing, which will offer information on the subject and the possibility of evaluating some parameters, such as blood pressure, blood glucose and obtaining data regarding family history that predispose to this disease.

In addition, based on the surveyed data, the possibility of a rapid blood glucose dosage with a simple puncture on the finger will be offered.

It should be remembered that diabetes is a disease that detected in time can have a better prognosis, hence the importance of raising awareness and disseminating information about it.It is a chronic condition that is triggered when the body loses its ability to produce sufficient insulin or use it effectively.

As a result, a person with diabetes does not absorb glucose properly, which over time begins to damage tissues and causes health complications that can be lethal.
