Mexico: Important to provide patients with diabetes good control tools

Information and knowledge about diabetes and their control helps patients make informed decisions.
One of the characteristics that distinguishes the National Congress of the Mexican Federation of Diabetes, A.C.(FMD) is that the content of its programs does not focus on a single subject but covers all the possibilities related to this life condition, said Marcela E. Vega, academic manager of the FMD.
The XXVII National Congress of the Mexican Federation of Diabetes, A. C., which will takeHealth and another to people who live with diabetes and their relatives, exposed by national and international specialists.
Marcela Vega said that diabetes, their prevention and treatments should be considered from different aspects so that there is good control and the least possibilities of developing consequences that affect the health and quality of life of people living with diabetes.
“Within the integral treatment for the good control of diabetes is the diabetes education that the patient receives, which will help him take his own control in his hands and establish a commitment with himself and with his condition, as well as to have attachmentto the treatment issued by the specialist, ”said the FMD academic manager.
Among the main topics aimed at health professionals are complications derived from bad control, metabolic syndrome in children and adolescents and medical innovations, among others.Meanwhile, people living with diabetes will be told about how to live with diabetes, prevention, permanent education, myths and realities, in addition to providing guides and advice on healthy eating.
Finally, Marcela Vega acknowledged the importance of bringing information, knowledge and advances on diabetes and their control to make people to make informed decisions and may have quality of life, and that specialists have the necessary tools to provide appropriate diagnoses, a good consultation and efficient treatment to your patients.
