45 percent of the people suffering from diabetes do not have an educator in the disease, according to the results of a survey, which negatively affects bad knowledge and therefore worse control of their pathology, Angel Ramírez, organizer of theII Edition of the 'Experience Day Diabetes' held recently.

Likewise, the survey, anonymous and carried out by 'Canaldiabetes.com', highlights that one in four patients feel discriminated against by their illness in their work environment. In this sense, Ramírez has pointed out that these data serve to "reinforce the importance of events such as 'Experience Day Diabetes' so that society assumes the importance of a disease that affects 15 percent of the population and will increasingly affect morepeople".

As for the reuse of needles, the results reveal that 46 percent of respondents normally reuse needles, with an average of 5.5 times per needle. On the other hand, reports the expert, 30 percent of patients do not modify their life habits depending on the data obtained when analyzing their diabetes, while 41 percent do not have a personalized plan to control their diabetes.

"The second edition of 'Diabetes Experience Day' has been a meeting where true protagonists are people with diabetes and their environments," Ramírez.Attendees have lived in the first person a "visual, attractive and entertaining" experience that has been born with the aim of impacting and consolidating positive messages around diabetes, has concluded.

From my experience, diabetes educators are those people who first depress you telling you all the misfortunes associated with diabetes, and then does not give you permission to put a pump or a continuous meter and tell you that with 3 strips a day andYou have enough to control your diabetes. And if you don't do well, you're dumb.

How lucky is 45%!!!!

En 1922 descubrieron la insulina, en 1930 la insulina lenta. ¿Que c*** han hecho desde entonces?

Educators are those people who do not have diabetes, have not played sports in their lives, have read two brochures on the subject and they already believe that they know everything.Quite useless people.
