It is important and necessary that education, prevention and control actions be carried out to avoid the increase in the incidence of diabetes in Mexico and that those who already live with it do not face any sequel derived from a bad control of blood glucose levels, said Lic. Gisela Ayala Téllez, Executive Manager of the Mexican Diabetes Federation, A.C.(FMD).

Likewise, he said that just one of the FMD's tasks is to provide information on diabetes to those who live with this condition, their relatives and health professionals through activities such as the XXVII National Congress of the FMD, which will take placeFrom March 26 to 28 in Acapulco, Guerrero.

According to the most recent version of the Atlas of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), more than 360 million people in the world live with diabetes and about 175 million more do not know that they live with this conditionsince they do not have a diagnosis.

According to the same agency, in 2013 worldwide 548 billion dollars were spent on treatment and prevention of complications.Regarding this, Dr. Marco A. Villalvazo, certified diabetes educator and professor of the Diabetes Educators Training Diploma, which is taught in the Mexican Federation of Diabetes, A.C.(FMD), he says that "after informing a diagnosis of diabetes, the doctor should explain to the patient what he should do and mainly how to do it to control his condition, that is called diabetes education."

The specialist indicated that the lack of education in diabetes is as serious as the lack of insulin, since although the purpose of the control treatment is to avoid the development of complications due to the increase in blood glucose levels, education in diabetesIt also provides information to the patient and their relatives for the development of skills and abilities, the improvement of behaviors and habits and, above all, encourages self -care to have good control of their condition and be able to have quality of life.

In that sense, Marcela Vega, academic manager of the FMD, highlighted the importance of sending the most up -to -date information on advances in medicines and treatments both patients and doctors, primary purpose of the XXVII FMD Congress, which will be carried out by theMarch 26 to 28, 2015 in Acapulco, Guerrero.

He pointed out that the content of scientific and educational programs, aimed at health professionals and patients, respectively, covers all possibilities related to this life condition, for example, complications prevention, metabolic syndrome in children and adolescents, medical innovations, medical innovations,Permanent education, myths and realities, in addition to providing guides and advice on healthy eating, all exposed by national and international speakers.

Three of the main speakers of the XXVII FMD Congress are:

Sun Michael Hirst, president of the International Diabetes Federation.
César Ochoa, associate professor at the Western University of Health Sciences in California, U.S.A.
Fernando Lavalle, current president of the Mexican Society of Nutrition and Endocrinology.
He also emphasized the workshops that will be taught during Congress, since they mean a good opportunity for patients have contact with specialists and in addition to learning about diabetes can solve their doubts with first -hand information.

Finally, as a representative of the Secretariat of Tourist Development (Sefotur), Lic. Flor Selene Salas González, general director of groups and conventions of Sefotur Guerrero, said that it is a pride for the inhabitants of Acapulco that the port is host of events of the events of the events of themagnitude and quality of the XXVII National Congress of the FederationMexican of Diabetes, A.C.

He also indicated that Acapulco has sufficient infrastructure and human resources to house events of this type and recalled that during 2015 important events such as the Mexican Tennis Open 2015 will be held, the World Cup with shotgun, the French festival, the XLTourist Tianguis 2015, the Annual Congress of Cardiac Surgery, the 2015 Mining Convention and the XXIX Congress of Cardiology, other others.

I have not read the text but as the title offends me ...

Let's do an experiment, which originally wrote this holder we induce a type1 diabetes and we leave him without insulin, then compare what happens to him, with another random diabetic to whom they have not given a special education.I bet what you want in a few weeks will not be both the same.

En 1922 descubrieron la insulina, en 1930 la insulina lenta. ¿Que c*** han hecho desde entonces?

Caray Sherpa! That's like taking the announcement of pneumatics that said "power without control is of no use" ... let's try to remove the pneumatics from the car ... right?

Anyway, what better the holder does not literally and leave it in a simple comparison (with exaggeration) to take with the importance that education in diabetes deserves and knowing how to control, correct?;-)
