Argentina: First level doctors were trained in timely insulinization

The Ministry of Health, through the Networks and Diabetes programs, and depending on the work articulated with the National Health portfolio provided a training on timely insulinization of which doctors from the first level of Paraná and Concordia participated.

In this regard, the Provincial Referent of the Network Program, Marcela Retamoso, indicated that “due to the high demand for hospitals endocrinology services, it is necessary to strengthen the human resource of the first level of care services, and that is why theMinistry of Health of the Nation convened, through the networks and diabetes programs, to the doctors of the first level to do this training. ”

From the Networks program, you work to strengthen health services networks, in this particular case putting the emphasis on the reinforcement of the first level of care in the diabetes.

For its part Liliana Medvetzky, trainer of the Ministry of Health of the Nation in the Network Area and who was in charge of the training, said that "since type two diabetes is a very widespread disease and that 80 percent of thePatients with this pathology are treated in the first level of care, the idea is that the doctors who attend them are trained to give them the best conditions for their pathology, and if among those solutions it is to prescribe insulin can be insulinized. • The course

The objective of the course was that first level professionals learn to insulinize to improve the care of the diabetic patient, and thus prevent recharging to the second level of care (hospitals).

For training, professionals from Paraná and Concordia were convened, which are the departments where the networks program is currently developed, which went to training in the month of September.After the initial day the professionals had three months of rotation for the diabetes service, and in this second meeting the closure of the course was held, where the trained health teams made presentations and talks based on the clinical cases observed in this interim.
