The Esteban Echeverría Diabetology area works hard to improve the quality of life of people with diabetes in an integral way.In this way on March 27, the second cycle of secondary education for adults began with diabetes.

With sponsorship of the Argentine Diabetes Federation (FAD) last Friday, March 27, the 2nd Secondary Education Cycle for Adults with Diabetes began, in Esteban Echeverría.This cycle is organized by the Diabetological Unit of the Santamarina Hospital, together with the Plan II Plan, of adult training.

Already in his second cycle- the last year returned the first promotion of students of the Adult High School with Diabetes- this project is possible thanks to the collaboration of the Association Manos Dulces Echeverrianas, NGOs that head and provide support to people with diabetes;and of the Luis Guillón Rotary Club that lends its facilities.

With an excellent attendance, this second cycle began with many expectations of both students and teachers. It is important to note that in addition to formal education, this secondary school has the particularity of offering diabetological education, healthy eating classes by members of the Santamarina Municipal Hospital, physical activity with teachers of the municipality.

This setting takes the imprint of the tireless work of the prestigious Dr. Gabriel Lijteroff, who serves as head of the Diabetology Unit of the Santamarina Municipal Hospital and is director of the Scientific Committee of the Argentine Federation of Diabetes (FAD);And that for three years he has found his team, the necessary impulse to launch this long -standing project and that is the first in its kind in Latin America. Thus, achieve that patients with low or limited resources diabetes, who are treated in a public hospital, improve their quality of life, not only a better metabolic control, but mainly a greater social inclusion.
