This June 12 will be held the 2015 Telehaton of the Association of Parents of Children and Youth with Diabetes in Multicentro Las Américas.
Aura Cuadra, president of this association said that a specific goal has not been established, but many friends are expected to provide a grain of sand for the cause.
Cuadra said that there are currently around 900 children with diabetes in the country with type one or insulin -dependent diabetes;So far this year 22 new cases have been diagnosed and six deaths are reported.
For his part María Cristina Argûello, a member of the association, said that each diabetic child needs around 5.5 dollars daily to stabilize their health, because medicines, glucometers, reactive tapes among others are needed to serve patients.
