FORUM RULES

Welcome to the Diabetes Forum – the online community!

The Diabetes Forum is an online community for people with diabetes, as well as for parents, partners, family members, and friends!

This forum is a meeting space for everyone, a place to share information about diabetes, share personal experiences, and ask questions. All members of this community will do their best to answer these questions with the utmost accuracy and from their own experience.

The forum is open to the public, including children, young people, and adults. Therefore, it is essential to communicate appropriately, avoiding the use of inappropriate language, insults, unauthorized advertising, among others.

This space is also a meeting point for diabetes associations, groups to which we give special attention. These associations can use the "Diabetes Associations" category to share relevant information about their activities and members.

To ensure compliance with these principles, we have a team of moderators who voluntarily oversee adherence to the rules outlined below.

Forum Rules:

Review of Topics and Comments: Topics and comments that violate the forum rules will be reviewed by the moderation team, who, at their best discretion, will take the necessary steps to address such violations.

Confidentiality: Under no circumstances will names, reasons, private messages, etc., addressed to the moderators be made public, especially in cases of reporting topics or comments. This confidentiality will be maintained both publicly and privately.

Purpose of Decisions: The decisions we make as moderators are aimed at fostering maximum participation and cordiality in the forum.

Respect and Empathy: We ask all participants to value and respect those who start a thread or express an opinion. We understand that sharing a personal experience, raising a doubt, or asking for help is the central goal of this forum.

Kindness over Rationality: We believe that, in the context of the forum, sometimes a gesture of kindness and understanding can be more valuable than a purely rational or medical explanation.

Prohibition of Profit: We are committed to removing and banning users who attempt to profit by selling miracle cures for diabetes, including websites, emails, books, or any other means not backed by the scientific community and without demonstrable evidence.

Unauthorized Advertising: The repeated use of the forum to post links to other websites, especially when it is clear that the intention is to gain visits and/or users, will also be considered improper advertising.

Disciplinary Measures: Users who violate these rules will be banned and/or their messages will be edited or deleted.

We hope that by following these good practices and applying common sense, we can all help maintain the high quality of the content posted in this forum, making it of greater help to diabetics, parents, family members, and friends.
